Diving into SouthLake

Join SouthLake Christian Academy as we expose philosophical and foundational topics to help shepherd our community’s families as well as our students. The vision of SouthLake Christian is that Christ may be preeminent in all things. Because of this, we see the school as a mission, where students are taught the gospel of Jesus Christ through daily instruction in God’s Word and integration of biblical principles into every academic, artistic, athletic, service and social endeavor. It is our hope that each student and family that comes to SouthLake Christian will come to know Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior.

SouthLake Christian Academy is a Christian school in which we continually see God’s hand shape our existence. But why are we here in the first place? What is our purpose beyond educating our students to be successful in the world around us. Today we celebrate the darkest day in human history that gave way to the bright hope of eternity. Today is Good Friday, a special day Christians set aside where we reflect on Christ's death on a cross to pay the penalty for our sins. Read along in scripture with me as we discover why it was necessary for Jesus to die, and exalt in the love and grace that Jesus showed us in the fulfillment of this requirement. This is why we are here. This is why we do what we do.

This month we dive into the Fine Arts department at SouthLake Christian Academy and explore all the meaning behind creation as a picture and representation of God's whole being. We look at artistic expression as a way that we as individuals can reflect upon God's wonder, glorify His beauty, and honor his name.
We also identify the necessity AND the command of using the gifts of singing, music, visual art, literature, and all other forms of art to praise the name of the Lord and lift Him higher.
Join me, Jose Bas, and MaryAnn Foltz this month as we dive into the Arts here at SouthLake.

SouthLake’s mission statement tells us that we look to continue to glorify God and partake in his mission as he sees fit, but we can’t do this without observing where we have been and how it informs our future. We have the pleasure of speaking with our own Dr. Matthew Kerlin and David Rowles today as we take a time machine back to discover where SouthLake has been in the past, and how God has used us even in the midst of our innate earthly flaws.
